Walgate Wine is a small-scale English project focused on terroir-driven, low-intervention wines that prioritise site, season and restraint over heavy-handed winemaking. Working with organically farmed fruit sourced from leading growers in the southeast, the wines are made with a slow, patient approach—often using amphora, neutral oak and minimal additions to allow clarity and energy to emerge naturally. The range leans into purity and texture, with both still and sparkling wines shaped by regenerative thinking and a “hands-off” philosophy that favours expression over polish. At its core, the project reflects the vision of Ben Walgate, whose work bridges traditional techniques with a more modern, lo-fi approach to English wine.
